Baby Skylar was a rock star for her newborn session! Normally newborns last for 2 set and wardrobe changes. Maybe 3. Skylar did 4! It was so much fun and such an honor to capture her newborn days right before her first Christmas.
Getting the perfect Christmas card photo takes patience, especially with little ones. I love what happens waiting for that moment to come. The pure joy of playing in the sand and flipping your dress. The giggles and squeals. And then, she looks right at you and flashes a perfect smile! Success!!!
My client Kia sent me a photo of a newborn baby on a wedding dress and asked me if we could do something similar. I love when clients have ideas! This one required a lot of set up and adjusting, but we finally got what we wanted. It was fun to collaborate with Kia and show her the photos as I took them to see what she thought. Great collaboration!!!
Kerian is gorgeous! She had a natural ease in front of the camera. This is one of my favorites from their session.
Laird and Kerian approached me for a gender reveal session. I suggested that they also do some maternity shots while we were there. It’s what I call a “session within a session”. There is no extra charge. I do it for the love of photography. And to make my clients so happy they come back again and again. 🙂
Lovely close up from Kia’s maternity session on the beach. She found this dress and the ad had a photo of the model with rocks in the background. She loved it and sent it to me to see what we could do. I suggested we go to Deerfield Beach knowing that these rocks were there. The dress and rocks contrast beautifully with the blue of the sky and water. This is a great example of how I bring my client’s visions to life!
I had the pleasure of doing a photo shoot with one of my childhood friends and the results are spectacular. It is usually a challenge to meet someone, get to know them and let that spirit come through the lens all at the same time. In this case I went into it knowing this soul better than most. We have shared childhood, teenage and adult memories. We have been together through triumphs and tragedies. We weren’t always in constant contact but when you know someone’s soul so profoundly you can always just pick up right where you left off.
The lovely Aneesa sitting in the garden. She wanted a photo shoot to celebrate her birthday. We had so much fun wandering around Morikami Japanese Gardens in Boca Raton, Florida and finding great spots to capture her beauty. Love the interesting structure in the background and the rock in front of it was the perfect seat for a photo opp!
Every photo shoot I look for unique shots. This one happened quickly and no one even realized I took it. I love having the back of the parents frame the little girl. She isn’t convinced of whatever it is they want her to do at the moment. I love those real life moments that just unfold before my eyes.
11/21/16 – Sometimes it’s the photos you think are going to be the easiest that turn into a challenge. I thought it would be cool to do their footprints in the sand. This is probably the 8th time we did it! 🙂 The first couple of times the footprints weren’t clear enough. Then we moved closer to the water where the sand was wet. We got two good footprints and then the water came up and covered them. So we moved back and tried again. We finally got it! Now, I realize the spacing isn’t 100% even but life isn’t perfect. I could “fix” it in Photoshop but I actually prefer it the way it is. Maybe because I was there and have the memory of what it took to get this shot – just like the family will remember.
Thirteen and she can pose like a supermodel! Often times during shoots I will tell people to strike a pose just to see what they do. I don’t give them any direction and I do it when I sense we need to break things up. The result is always a glimpse into someone’s personality. Sweet Montana went from posing and smiling politely to this – fierce supermodel unleashed! Fantastic!
I had a great time with Sherry & Allan from Trinidad & Tobago! They were vacationing in Ft. Lauderdale and I did their maternity shoot while they were here.
I try to get at least one photo in each maternity shoot that is a head and shoulders shot of the couple. I love this shot of Sherry and Allan. They are so relaxed and happy.
Happy Wedding Day to Joe & Ashley!!!
I love this couple. I had the pleasure of doing their engagement photo shoot back in February and now the honor of doing their wedding for them! We had a little rain scare early that morning but it turned out lovely on the beach. Congratulations to the happy couple!
This was one of Matt’s favorite photos from our session on the beach. I love how this bridge frames the shot and the leading lines draw you right to Matt and then the ocean. I had a great time doing these photos with him. One more great memory to add to the million others we already have together.
I had so much fun with my good friend Matt doing a headshot session on the beach. This was my favorite of the batch. (I tend to like pictures of people not smiling as opposed to smiling. So much more interesting.)
This shot is captivating. His eyes draw you into the photo. You can’t help wondering what he was thinking at that moment. I love it!
Another one of my favs from Londyn’s headshot session. She wanted to use the motorcycle helmet to get some unique headshots. We had so much fun trying new things! I changed her lipstick and sunglasses to purple here just to give it a pop of color. She loved the purple so much she wanted to change the lipstick color in some other photos too. It is always great fun to hang out with Londyn. It can’t be called work when you love what you do and get to do it with fun, fabulous people like her!
